Children’s ministry is all about connecting kids to Jesus Christ through a variety of ways, in an age appropriate manner. Here at RLC, we strive to do this through Sunday School and Wednesday “Kidz Groups”.
Sunday School
Our Sunday school program is where kids learn through a variety of mediums such as cooking, storytelling, art, music and science. We strive to use the most current means available each year as the program is reassessed and revitalized. Children 3 years old (potty trained) up to 6th grade have classes at 9:30am.
Our Sunday school children also experience Chapel. In Chapel they learn why we have candles on the altar and how to light them, why we give money and how it helps others. They also learn to usher and lead songs in Chapel as well as how to behave in corporate worship. It’s a safe growth environment leading to a positive church experience.
Wednesday Kidz
Wednesday Kidz Groups are geared towards Children in grades 1-6. We eat dinner ($2 donation) together and worship together and then we separate into learning groups:
  
1st & 2nd Grade 3rd & 4th Grade 4th & 5th grade
Babysitting is available on Wednesday evenings during Kidz Group for the younger siblings so that Mom and Dad can also attend family enrichment classes. We do ask for a $2 donation per child to help keep our costs down.
Milestones in Faith
We also have various special classes and activities to help families celebrate their child’s growth in the faith.

Bible class is where children are taught the importance of God’s Holy Word as well as how to use their Bibles. We have Bible Presentation Sunday where parents actually present Bibles to their children fulfilling the baptismal promise to place the scriptures in their child’s hands.

Holy Communion -Children as taught about Holy Communion and receive their first communion on Maundy Thursday.
Nursery
Babies and children under three are welcome and safe in our nursery. Miss Marla has been in charge of our Nursery for more than a decade. Babies hear Christian music and stories while playing safely with age appropriate toys. The nursery is open during all Sunday services and special occasions.
