Church: Coronavirus Update - August 28th, 2020
RLC continues to offer in-person worship services on Sundays at 8:30 and 10am, as well as opportunities to worship on Facebook at 10am on Sundays or on our website. Our previous communication from June 19th continues with regard to procedures related to in-person worship gatherings.
Effective September 6, 2020
Your RLC Church Council met on Monday August 17, 2020. The council and staff of RLC continue to be in prayer and conversations about our church facilities and church families. The leadership of RLC have made the decision to continue to follow recommendations for public health from the CDC and AZDHS to the extent feasible.
We ask that members continue to avoid in-person gatherings and use alternative means when possible (online conferencing, e-mail, phone etc.). If the ministry leader and attendees choose to conduct in-person gatherings at RLC they are to be short and in a large room.
The RLC campus will begin to be available for educational and ministry gatherings to members of our church. There is no way to ensure zero risk, however there are ways of mitigating the known risks.
Facilities Use by RLC Adult Ministries:
Anyone who is symptomatic, sick, has a fever or is concerned you or your family are at risk, is asked to not attend in-person gatherings. We all must plan and function in a way that is respectful to all members of RLC. If anyone has been diagnosed with COVID-19 based on a test or suspects to have had COVID-19 shall not be on campus unless they have been symptom free for at least 10 days prior.
Consider the following:
• Does the gathering serve to worship God?
• Does the gathering serve to further the mission and vision of RLC?
Planning for in-person gatherings:
• The Ministry Leader is to receive prior approval for the gathering by Lawrence Jones at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting date. Lawrence will assist with opening and closing the facilities.
• All meetings must be contained to the large area of Fellowship Hall.
• Only one (1) gathering per day will be permitted. Scheduling conflicts will be resolved by Lawrence Jones.
• No more than 30 participants / attendees are permitted to attend in the Fellowship Hall large area.
Come Prepared:
• Wearing a cloth facial covering while inside any buildings.
• Physical distancing must be maintained. Refrain from physical contact from family to family as per state and/or local authorities.
• Practice safe and adequate hand, eyes, nose, mouth hygiene. Contain coughs and sneezes.
What to Expect:
• No food or drinks are to be served family-style.
• Personal drink and food consumption is possible as long as 6 feet separation at tables is maintained.
• Bring your own bible and writing materials.
• Observe and adhere all warning signs.
Sanitation:
• We encourage each ministry to provide proper sanitation products and materials. Items may be stored in the kitchen. The ministry group using the space is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting the area immediately following the gathering.
• Hand sanitizer is to be available.
• The ability for hand washing is possible within the two bathrooms located on the west side of the fellowship hall room.
An isolation area is to be available for anyone who becomes ill during a gathering. If a positive case of COVID-19 occurs from anyone who took part in a gathering, this will require the immediate closure of the facility for at minimum, 14 days.
All concerns regarding health and safety that arise during a gathering should be immediately communicated with the ministry leader on-site. The ministry leader is required to share all concerns with Lawrence Jones at the close of the gathering. Any confirmed violation of this policy will result in the group’s forfeiture of using the church campus for future meetings during the term of this policy which is to be determined.
Anyone who attends a gathering at Resurrection Lutheran Church does so at-will and without persuasion. Attendees hereby assume their individual risk of any injury, illness, health and death and agrees to hold harmless Resurrection Lutheran Church at no fault in any way and therefore waives all such claims against Resurrection Lutheran Church, RLC Council and RLC Staff.
Respectfully,
RLC Church Council

Church: Coronavirus Update - May 14th, 2020
After much prayer and conversation, it has been decided that RLC will resume on-campus worship on Sunday, May 24th. Services online and on campus will be identical. This will be a ‘soft opening’ and we will be doing some things differently. For those who are compromised or not yet comfortable gathering just yet, we will continue to provide the worship service online. An important expectation as we begin to gather as believers to Worship God, we expect that anyone who is not feeling well to please stay and worship from home – for your benefit as well as others’.
Online / Virtual Worship: Facebook Watch Party (RLCScottsdale) at 10:00am or online.
Below is our plan for the 8:30am and 10:00am worship services for the foreseeable future, to be prudent and safe:

Preschool: Coronavirus Update - March 16th, 2020
At Resurrection Lutheran Preschool and Daycare our priority is the health and safety of our children, staff, and families. With that our leadership team has met to discuss the current situation surrounding COVID-19 and Governor Doug Ducey’s recent announcement of shutting down public schools in Arizona. After reading through numerous press releases from the Maricopa County Health office, recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and the Arizona Department of Health, and prayer we have decided to continue operation of the preschool and daycare as normal. We will continue to make health and cleanliness a priority on our campus. Along with the practices already in place, we have done a thorough cleaning of surfaces and toys and will continue to do this throughout the year.
One change we ask of you is that you refrain from entering the classroom at either drop off or pickup. The teachers will be more than happy to help in getting kids packed up and headed out the door. We also ask that you remember our normal policies around illness. If your child has vomited, a rash, lice, diarrhea, an eye infection, a sore throat, or a fever, please keep them at home.
We will continue to update you if there are changes to the CDC’s guidelines or our staff. Please be in prayer for our country and world as we deal with COVID-19. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Andrea, Mrs. Anita, or Matt Robards.
Just a reminder, we are still closed this coming Friday, March 20th, for our previously scheduled teacher in-service day.

Church: Coronavirus Update - March 14th, 2020
RLC will still be meeting for church services at 8:30 and 10am. However, we are taking some extra steps in an effort to be prudent and safe in regard to COVID-19. Below is our plan for worship and RLC activities for the foreseeable future:
If you have concerns or any questions, contact our Faith Community Nurse, Carol Heimann by phone or email.
- We will not be shaking hands.
- We will be serving communion with small glasses rather than intinction.
- The offering will be received in the collection boxes at the back of the church or in plates available at the end of the communion line. No plates will be passed. If dealing with envelopes, plates, etc., concerns you, this might be a good time to try online giving.
- We will not be passing the Friendship Pads.
- Please stay home if you are sick. We love you, but for your and others’ benefit, that is best.
- It is very important to be washing your hands – that is the best protection.
- We have been doing extra cleaning of church space – doorknobs, etc.
If you have concerns or any questions, contact our Faith Community Nurse, Carol Heimann by phone or email.
