Here's what we believe about...
Here's what we believe about...
God
Matthew 28:18-20; John 20:21-23, Acts 1: 4-5
- We believe in the triune God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
- There are no other gods, but God, who exists eternally as 3 distinct persons ~ the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The bible
II Tim 3:14-17; I Corinthians 2:12-13; Psalm 19:7-11
- The entire Bible is God-breathed, eternal, and inspired.
- We humble ourselves before God’s word, which is the primary way the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and reveals salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible guides and empowers followers of Jesus. The Word of God is the final authority for matters of faith and life.
jesus
John 14:6; I Timothy 2:5-6; John 3:16-17
- Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
- Jesus is fully God and fully man. The Bible is clear: God sent his Son into the world to save us by His dying for our sins and being raised victorious over sin and death. The Holy Spirit is working to bring people into a saving relationship with the Father through the Son.
humankind
Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:4-7; Psalm 53:1-3; Ephesians 1:1-10; Titus 3:4-7
- We believe that man/humankind was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and it is only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit that salvation and spiritual life be attained.
salvation
Ephesians 2: 8-9; Romans 3:9-25
- We are saved by God’s grace alone - acknowledging that all are sinners.
- We were born in the image of God, but fell into sin and we cannot save ourselves. We are by nature sinful and self-centered. We receive God’s free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus alone--not by what we have done, but by His amazing Grace. We praise God that He gave Jesus to pay the ultimate price for our sins that we might live forgiven and set free.
sacraments
Matthew 28:18-19; Romans 6:3-4; Mark 14:22-25; I Corinthians 11: 23-26
- We believe sacraments are a means of grace. We believe that the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are God’s gifts to His church and the means of grace where we hear God’s promises and are strengthened in our faith to live obediently to Jesus Christ.
service
Matthew 22:34-40; I John 3:16-18
- We were created to love and serve God.
- Our first responsibility is to have a personal, loving relationship with our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Through this covenant relationship, God’s spirit empowers us to love others and ourselves, and to represent Jesus Christ in our world.
